I always balk when someone says something like “thank god horror is getting more popular” am I wrong or has horror always been like a very popular thing across popular media? I grew up during the fervor of the ring and the grudge and saw and final destination people have always gone wild for good horror shit

 

Fear the Spotlight looks cool

 

Crow Country really scratched that itch of old school 90s horror ala RE/SH so seeing quite a bit of old school vibes there has me interested.

Horror doesn't have to have AAA hyper realistic graphics to be good.

 

Yeah horror remains popular. Even the shit blumhouse releases. Mostly awful shit with occasional decent ones accidentally

Don't forget the Saw movies! Texas chainsaw massacre, zombie movies, etc.

Yep. I think maaaaaybe they left the cultural zeitgeist but they're still there, just less big named titles/franchises.

 

Horror kept the theaters alive for most of the pandemic. It’s been huge and just a disrespected genre.

I also think in terms of video games horror sort of runs the gamut of what circles it’s popular in. You’ve got everything from solo developer titles to massive triple a productions with a whole lot in between. You can’t throw a stick two feet on steam without hitting a survival horror title

 

I plan to snag crow country eventually. Enjoyed the demo
