i think its the combo of Team Cherry being a small team, Silksong becoming much bigger than expected w them continually adding things, with ENORMOUS expectations for the game to be incredible on launch that are really pushing things back.

i'm sure they want things to be perfect (as they can be) and bug free (lol) before release
((also, remember Hollow Knight's numerous free content packs that were released post launch that really filled out the game- now TC has enough money to develop that before hand so it's all there on launch))

i mean, did they ever have that? HK didn't initially launch on Switch (who remembers that Wii U kickstarter goal, lol)
