The game's story, while it wears it's inspiration of Nier Automata on its sleeve 10000000% is nowhere near as good as that game's. The story isn't the selling point of the game, I'd say it's meh but everything else? A+ tier. The music and combat and especially the boss fights..... WHEW. The combat is sooo satisfying.

 

Granblue Relink is such a banger fucking game

 

Relink is GOATED one of the GOTYs this year

 

I've actually been enjoying it. Quite a breath of fresh air in the multiplayer FPS space.

 

It’s funny because I always thought high on life was an Microsoft owned game but I guess not

Player's Log: Cat Questing

I just completed Cat Quest II, 100% achievements, which is more than I can say for Cat Quest I, which had a bunch of achievements tied to replaying the game with NG+ modifiers that I am just not about in any way.

Fortunately, Cat Quest II had no such malarky, and it really added some nice QOL features over Cat Quest I that make it a superior game, even though both games have roughly the same gameplay loop and cute humor.

I find myself thinking of Elden Ring a lot playing this, actually, because you'll get killed if you don't learn to at least dodge to some degree. Like Limp Bizkit, we keep rollin'. Also, the way equipment works in the game kind of reminds me of Elden Ring a bit, in that the equipment is all upgradable and it's less about what's better and more about what suits your playstyle.

I made my cat a tank with defense and made my doggo a lightning mage and let the AI have the majority of the offensive spells while I concentrated on healing. It seemed to work for the most part, although sometimes I had no choice but to take over the dog for long-range attacking.

Anyway, next I'm going to play through the works of Odencat. I played Bear's Restaurant last year and found it delightful, so I'm going to play through the three other works of theirs: Fishing Paradiso, Meg's Monster, and Snowman Story.

 

It’s crazy they seemingly greenlit any of this stuff before any scripts had been written lol. As seems to be the case for the Horizon and GOW projects as well. The is the first casting info for any of them.

 

*This* makes me think that maybe TLOU3 is their next game.

I’m literally playing the first one right now, think I’m about halfway through the story. I just defeated the water dragon and now I have to beat the one where you have to learn to fly. Game is repetitive as hell but it’s still so cute and fun

Did the Godzilla dlc and fought a goblin shark while making some vip happy and won a cooking contest. Big night for Dave lol

 

Finished The Knight Witch! This game is absolutely gorgeous, and has a super good story to boot. The bullet hell elements get a bit overwhelming tho, I think it's nearly impossible to get through without using the game's "cheats" unless you're like godly at dodging everything. Nice variety of weapons and spells, most of which I personally didn't find particularly helpful, but that's fine, I found what worked for me and stuck with it. Great game, very pretty, very fun, very good story

 

It's a nice game to tune out to while listening to music.
