  1. Playing snipperclips with my 6 year old son is the most frustrating gaming experience of my life

It can be frustrating with grown ass adults, can't imagine it with a child.

    You have my condolences.

    Player's Log: Rusty Lake

And that's it! I finished Underground Blossom, and I'm very interested to know what the next Rusty Lake game will be, as it actually feels like the story is building toward a culmination of something.

Of all the growing questions about Mr. Owl, Mr. Crow, their plans for Rusty Lake, and how Albert, Rose, and Laura fit into the grand scheme of things, I think the one question I'm most keen on understanding is why exactly Mr. Owl is so adamant in trying to make Detective Vandermeer his successor.

Besides the obvious question of what Dale is supposed to be inheriting, I'm also just curious why him? If the purpose of the lake is to capture people's memories for some untold power, and was borne of the hubris of rich fanatics, then why choose an obsessive but otherwise seemingly innocuous detective to be the heir to this font of power?

Mr. Owl is... kind of an odd bird, no pun intended. I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up getting offed somehow by Mr. Crow at some point, as Mr. Crow makes his own play for power, although it's not entirely clear what Mr. Crow wants either.

Anyway, after playing through two series with spooky vibes, I'm opting for cuteness next, and I'm going to replay the first Cat Quest and then play through Cat Quest II.

Not saying you're wrong, but what else could they call it? It's exactly what it says on the tin.

  6. okay, I'm angry, so I'm gonna get into it. Spoilers, obviously.

you spend the entire game trying to save your creator girlfriend and when you finally reach her she's tied to a chair and in really bad shape. She says you shouldn't have come for her, that wasn't your primary directive, you must've forgotten your purpose. so obviously you're like "but i love you, why can't we be together?" and then she. fucking. dies. and THEN there's an annoying ass final boss fight I didn't even bother finishing. so afterwards, you bury your dead girlfriend, something awakens inside you, and you realize what should've been your mission all along, to "reach the core." wowww mysterious. then the game. fucking. ends. Not only is it "kill your gays," it's a shitty cliffhanger setup for a potential sequel. This is not the queer rep I was hoping for. at all.

if you're looking for a fun ultraviolent stylish metroidvania, by all means play the game, but don't go in expecting a worthwhile story. hell, don't even bother reaching the final part of the final area (if you haven't already read my rant), the ending ruins everything.

I was curious, so I went to TV Tropes and apparently there's a secret ending that goes like this?

The secret ending shows us the creation of a denzel who bears a striking resemblance to Shinji and proceeds to set something in motion she refers to as "Awakening". This throws several things we thought we knew about Shinji into question. Was the plan really for Cherry to return the Red Seed or did she know from the start Cherry would prioritize saving her over the mission? Is the denzel we see Shinji herself, reborn as a robot via Brain Upload or merely another one of her creations?

Picked up ni no kuni today on ps3 for dirt cheap at half price books. I’ve got a huge ps3 collection at this point I don’t think I’ve ever spent more than ten bucks for a single game lol and many were in 2 for 10 or 4 for 20 deals at game cons

  16. The Knight Witch is fun so far but I was having a bit of trouble so I looked up all the cheats and activated a few of them. Not invincibility or infinite mana, just slower enemy bullets and occasional health drops, some stuff to help me get by haha...

it's weird that they call it that and have you unlock them, I know it's a throwback to when cheats were a common thing, but it's basically what we'd consider accessibility options nowadays if you think about it. But yeah, much like with Dead Cells, I'm glad the option is there.

I’ve wanted to play a multiplayer game for a while and to my surprise I saw The Finals on Steam
Deck was playable. I’ve dropped a good amount of hours in that one over the past few weeks.

In other news Silent Hill 2 looks rough.
