towards mid- to late-game Cookie Cutter has some really frustrating (optional?) jumping puzzles involving mazes of insta-death spikes. I would usually try to get all weapons and abilities for any metroidvania I finish but this is beyond me. two areas were so difficult that after like half an hour I just gave up. The game just stops being fun at that point and becomes a chore.

tldr game is fun as hell but if something optional seems too hard to reach just skip it and move on

 

decided to pick up Civ 6 (for $3)

The environmental designs for SH2 look good tbf. Combat looks a bit janky but it seems faithful to the original. I hate the character designs so far, but the brief shot of Mary/Maria looked good (the voice actress looks eerily similar to the original character.)

After seeing the Transmission footage I’m baffled at how bad the SoP trailer was.

 

Astro Bot looks fucking sick. Love a 3D platformer. Instantly my most anticipated game this year.

Concord (and the dozen other hero shooters seemingly announced last night) looks fun enough. I'm ready for an Overwatch replacement since that has been butchered beyond belief. No issues with so many attempts being announced - throw enough shit at the wall, and surely one will stick eventually.

 

Yeah the SH2 gameplay video has given me way more hope that it’s gonna be good.

I loved Spyro as a kid but haven't cared much about those types of games in so long.

 

It’s so good

 

Everything I've seen of it looks incredible

 

It was the first game I tried on my deck and I had to pick my jaw up from the floor at how creative and novel the traversal is

unfortunately my tastes have changed. also i'm bad at platformers now sadly.

 

I legitimately do not think I would enjoy playing Spyro as an adult

should've used the money to bring back the actual Concorde. Or Flight of The Conchords.
