So I decided to try Trails Of Cold Steel: Northern War and holy shit, this might be the worst fucking translation I've ever seen in my life. It's eye-gougingly bad. I refuse to believe a human did this.

Unfortunately because I wasted so much time on Northern War, I only finished the first half of Paradox. I'll watch the short film and finish the second half tomorrow. Series remains very creepy, weird, and confusing, in the best kind of way.

I want to say a little more about Northern War. After Priconne's global version went under, I swore off gacha games as I decided it wasn't worth the investment for a game that could be dead tomorrow. I'd rather play games I know I own and can play again and again than something that I might not ever get to truly finish.

That said, having fallen in love with the Trails franchise, I felt if anything could get me to play a gacha game again, it would be the promise of more lore in that world. Sure, I watched most of the Northern War anime, and it was pretty meh, but at least this had the promise of more content.

But the thing I cannot stand is when a game shows complete disrespect for its own audience. It's bad enough that gacha games are predatory by nature, but to have the gall to push that to players and repay them with the absolute worst script I've ever seen... like, it's not just typos here and there; names are wrong, names are attributed to incorrect people, places, and things, sometimes multiple times in one description. Words are missing, grammar is nowhere.

Like, this reflects poorly on Falcom, honestly, that they would allow a third party to do this. Why would I want to use my time and potentially my money on a game that clearly has no respect for my intelligence or for my devotion as a fan? Why wouldn't a company recognize the inherent value in providing a quality product?

The mind truly boggles. Anyway, I deleted it from my phone. Can't be bothered. Shan't!

Yo, this System Shock remake is fire. I forgot what it was like to play a game without mission markers. In the modern landscape of gaming, this game makes you feel smart just for paying attention. lol

Also, Citadel Station is as iconic as it ever was. Such a fantastic setting.

Extremely hard to believe this game (doom) is only eight years old. Seems like it could’ve been released yesterday. Fast, frenetic, loud, smooth, fluid, tense, responsive, varied, FUN what else is there to say about this gameplay

 

DOOM made it so easy to find collectibles and yet I still struggled with it but what a game.

I’ll eventually get to Eternal.

 

I feel like I’m gonna fly through this and want more so it’ll be easy to pick up eternal where I left off years ago on the third or fourth level
