Love closing studios in the name of rushing Elder Scrolls and Fallout out the door

So they closed these studios down so that they can focus more on those two? Like I guess I understand that line of thinking, Xbox REALLY needs some wins so they wanna take less time putting them out but at the cost of closing them down? That seems crazy shortsighted

 

If that’s actually what’s happening then hopefully every one of those devs gets a job at Bethesda.

 

Matt Booty’s statement seemed to imply some will be moving over but the majority will be axed. Fuck Microsoft and Xbox

 

I don’t think anyone at Tango is transitioning to other jobs. Only some of Arkane is and Roundhouse

 

I want to apologize for defending Xbox because they are absolute trash now

And from a non-bias perspective - I don’t think Hellblade 2 is going to be profitable at all. All this shows is unless you’re Call of Duty, you’re going to be on the chopping block of losing your job outright or being asked to work on a title that will make money.

HiFi was Xbox’s most praised title in ages and it didn’t matter because it didn’t sell. Now people are out of jobs.

When you’ve closed more studios in a year than games you’ve put out - it’s time to acknowledge that there needs to be urgent change.

they push everyone to game pass, and then cite low sales for games as the reason to shut studios down? Like, you get to a point in subscription based services where you already have the market that’s going to sub. So yeah, people subbing to game pass aren’t gonna buy a game they can already play.

game pass price hike is definitely incoming.

 

honestly also fuck whoever greenlit Hi-Fi Rush, knowing good and well that game is never going to sell and just help them make a case for shutting down Tango.

 

Hades 2 haven't gotten past the first mini-boss yet but everything so far has been gorgeous (and all the characters are hot holy hell). just unlocked the first weapon.
