Counting down the days until FF7 Rebirth comes out. So unbelievably excited for it.

 

I’ve still gotta play FF7 Remake before Rebirth comes out.

I’m also quite looking forward to Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden and Rise of the Ronin

 

They have that double pack if you preorder Rebirth you get Remake and it’s DLC for free!

 

Player's Log: Trails of Cold Steel II.

I've completed the game. The only achievements I have left now are two I'd get for finishing on Nightmare difficulty, two I'll get for completing content only available in a second run, one I get for all other achievements, and one for scanning every enemy which I missed because I didn't scan one. Which is fine, once I get that one, the achievement will pop.

So of course next is the second run, which I expect shouldn't take me too long if my previous runs are any judge.

As for the rest of the game, I enjoyed the brief look at Crossbell and what's happened to the SSS since Azure. Sucks that they're more or less being monitored and/or underground now, and it sucked to see Lloyd and Rean at odds at their first encounter, but that's how these tropes go, unfortunately.

I also fully understand why people who played Cold Steel first might have been surprised to learn that Rixia was not Lloyd's paired love interest in Zero/Azure; it's just that Lloyd is that much of a ladies' man that he gets ship tease with anyone he comes into contact with and some people he doesn't. Much like Rean, which will be a battle for the ages to see which one is the bigger stud.

Anyhoo, the epilogue was fine. I love how the final boss is like "Listen, this is a meaningless event just designed to give you guys one last victory and happy ending to make up for the shitstorm that happened in the finale. Take it or leave it." I did tear up a little though at Millium crying for the first time and everyone following suit.

It's going to take all my willpower to not dive into Cold Steel III, but I made my decision. I want to watch Northern War, and so as not to be doing nothing while watching it, I'll play Boundless Trails next.

I am mildly curious about that final boss area being called Boundless Cathedral though. Cute reference? Something more? Who knows?

Been getting back into hitman freelancer the last few days. Something snapped in my brain and I'm suddenly good at it. Or at least I no longer lose during the first two missions every time.

 

Now that I beat Valhalla I need to redownload Horizon Forbidden West and play the Burning Shores dlc.

 

GOTG is so fucking good, I still listen to the hair metal album they made for it

Player's Log: Trails of Cold Steel II.

Already more than halfway through my second run. I'm like seven games deep into this series and I'm still absolutely flabbergasted at how quickly the game goes when you speed past all the dialogue and don't fuck around. Already got that last enemy for the achievement too.

I also finished two episodes of Northern War, and I might try to finish two more before going to bed...

At this rate, maybe I will do Cold Steel III next instead. I kind of didn't expect things to go this quickly.

 

I bought Atelier Sophie 2 because I can't stay away from those games. It'll be the 15th Atelier game I've played these past few years

100% complete. All achievements unlocked.

The postgame in this game is interesting because this is the first time a Trails game has put what feels like actual story-relevant content behind a second playthrough.

Usually if there's any new content in a second run, it's a bonus dungeon or enemies. Maybe a new cutscene here and there, but never anything meaningful.

This time though, the Black Records and the revelation about Thomas being one of the Gralsritter seems like something that should have been in the main game, even as just a post-credits kind of thing. Hell, it would've even made more sense as the final quest of the epilogue, assuming that final dungeon really was just a nonsense thing.

I dunno, I guess we'll see as I progress how much it matters or not.

Next up? Cold Steel III. Sorry Boundless, I swear I'll get to you someday!

 

Picked up this game for $20 on Xbox. It’s very cute and relaxing. Plus, it’s about the environment. Seems like a fantastic game for the Switch too.

 

I definitely want to play this at some point. It's made by ustwo games, who are the minds behind the Monument Valley games, as well as Assemble With Care (which I played and loved) and Desta: The Memories Between (which I haven't played yet).

Been playing Witcher 3 all day, the next gen update is so awesome.


I totally forgot they are remaking Witcher 1

 

Loved Witcher 3 (and especially Gwent) but never played any others in the series so looking forward to that remake

 

I never got the hang of combat in Witcher 1, ran out of potions, and there wasn't a way to respec my skills so I got stuck and just never finished it

 

Never played the first. Played the second and loved the story but felt the combat was iffy. Third is best
