I’m almost tempted to get gamepass just for the hype of the last few days

 

My copy of The Hundred Line arrived today. Really looking forward to playing another Uchikoshi game but I've still got tons of Xenoblade to get through

 

Sandfall had to use Robert Pattinson as a reference for Gustave. The resemblance is almost uncanny.

 

Clair Obscur was definitely a little bit overwhelming for me at first, but man, once you get a feel for everything Idk how you can make a better turn based combat system than this. It's fucking incredible.

This combat system is GOAT tier.

 

She has to be a gamer lol. That’s like the third video game adjacent movie she’s attached to now right?

 

This is not a shot at the film industry because it just works differently over there, but imagine if every game got announced the second a dev team or publisher agrees to start working on it.

Think of how many times we hear the story about a game that was being worked on but got cancelled after a handful of months/years. Whether it’s a story from a random guy on ResetEra or it’s a legit story in Bloomberg from Schreier himself. Just think about how many of those stories that never make it out and just how common of an occurrence it is for a game to get killed off at any point between the initial brainstorming stage all the way through principal development.

For these reasons i’m thankful it’s not industry standard for games to get announced the second they’re greenlit like movies are.

 

the main motif in the Clair Obscur prologue is giving me major final fantasy 16 vibes aka it’s some of the best music I’ve heard in a game

 

I'm at 80 hours right now and not wanting this to end! Doing all side quests and affinity quests, I'm gonna try to 100% it.....I think I'm at chapter 9 right now.

Really like clair obscur so far but only on the prologue, about an hour in. GREAT voice acting, and a beatiful bizarre world. Really well done intro walking down to the harbor.

Playing on PC with a PS controller and seems to play smooth, tho getting the attack command down on time is going to be a struggle for me as im just not that good at games.

All graphics settings are on the default medium and it runs okay.... Anyone want to suggest what i can bump up? Havent gotten to any combat heavy sections but fps is running highs 40s to 50s. I set everything to high briefly and it was down to around 35 fps just walking around so figure i need to go custom.

Geforce RTX 2070 card. MSI gaming laptop about 5 years old. Still seems to handle most new games fine.

DLSS to Balanced or Performance

-> global illumination to low
-> shadows to medium

-> post processing to epic (or low if you hate the look)

-> everything else to medium

if you want I can help you inject a more recent version of DLSS that will make it look even better but requires a bit of work.

 

I'm 30ish hours in on chapter 6 haha. I completely forgot how dense this game is. Every time I finish a quest, it feels like 15 more pop up.

 

Persona + paper Mario = best turn based combat system around

 

Word of mouth is gonna do crazy things for this one. Gonna hit a million after a week for sure

 

I'm assuming/hoping most of their development costs are covered by the game pass deal and this is just extra on top.
