trying out phantom liberty for the first time. insane first impression

Xbox dropping an Oblivion remake right on Expedition 33s head next week (allegedly) makes me big sad

 

oh no. Ender Lilies just gave me lifesteal. The difficulty scaled pretty well up until this point. Now I've beaten a boss on the first try. I don't think I'm even overleveled? Ah well. I'm about to cheese the shit outta this, be a fuckin menace

I think I've passed the halfway point by now. Really enjoying it so far. as with any MV, there are a few annoying bosses here and there. the exploration/backtracking has been really rewarding, tho. big variety of biomes/enemies, and also weapons/abilities. the story is told through writings you pick up as you go along, but also through memories/flashbacks of any boss you kill. for something with minimal dialogue and zero voice acting, I'm finding myself pretty emotionally attached to the story. Whereas Death's Door excelled in story and Death's Gambit excelled in gameplay, I think this falls somewhere in between. But I'm not finished yet! so we'll see.

 

Plz no. That should just discourage devs from giving exclusive marketing to MS then....cuz MS was the first one to show it off and for a bit the ONLY system it was shown on/showcased was Xbox.

 

If they try and sabotage Expedition 33 like that, I just don’t know man

 

I’m stoked for Oblivion, but I know which one I’m choosing first, if that’s true.

 

I still don’t believe that MS would just shadow drop a remaster of a beloved jank classic but we’ll see.

 

I just hope they don’t remove the jank…I want the same jank, just in 4K!

 

Blue Prince is so fucking fun holy shit. I thought it was 8 and it was 10:30 pm. Even my girl was addicted just watching it (and she even pointed out some very tiny text to hover over with the magnifying glass that I never would have seen myself)

 

Here I thought I was about to beat it tonight - got the door open for room 46 and then I…. Ran out of fucking keys. Fml

Also loving Blue Prince though I think Im a bit behind a lot of you. Wife and I have been playing together but we've been sick so not a ton of gaming time. I think Leo Vader from Minnmax compared it to Spelunky in that it feels like it creates and perfects a genre at the same time and I agree with that so far 100%.

 

A puzzle rogue? The fuck is a puzzle rogue? Procedurally generated puzzles? So it's like Fights in Tight Spaces without the fights?

 

This looks way better than I originally thought. It’s also still absolutely fucking insane they are shadow dropping this

 

My only complaint about the Oblivion remake graphics is it looks like they took a lot of the color out which is a bummer

Blue Prince is one of those games where at times I'm like "idk how I feel about this" and yet I'm playing every night for way too long and I clearly am in love with it
