I need to try them all! I own every single one besides the MMOs and 15 haha. I’ve played the first hour of a few of them. But I don’t think ever tried 8 at all yet so I’ll have to do that

 

It was my favorite as a kid. I had it before 7 for some reason. It's been years since I've played it though, but I have no doubt it still holds up.

I just started Final Fantasy VII yesterday. The original version because I want to play through that before doing the remakes. I've only ever played FF XIII and I never finished it.

Started a new playthrough of FFXII yesterday. That game is so god damn good.

The job system makes it so much better.

I was just messing. FF8 and 3 are the only ones I've started and not finished out of the first 10. I do plan on getting back to them someday

 

though yes I would agree, FF9 is probably a much better starting point for someone who hasn't played the old ones

 

I feel like if @mescalineeyes hasn't played FF8 it'd be a phenomenal game for him to pick apart and experience due to all its weird quirks

 

I have played (and loved!) it at release because I am the oldest man alive

 

I played it pretty early on too haha, my second Final Fantasy I believe

 

Yeah I went 7 8 9. A replay of 9 is very close to next on my docket. I already installed the very very gorgeous remaster mod.

 

I was like 8 when I first played it. But I think it took me a couple years to beat.

 

I’ve watched a bunch of video essays on 8 that make it sound a bit tedious, I’ll say that. But also apparently very easy to break if you understand the underlying systems well enough.

 

7 was the first I “played” but that was mainly cause my brother had a backup save at golden saucer but I was too young to really understand wtf was going on

9 was the first one I beat beginning to end. 9 then 10 then 8

 

I played 10 and 8 around the same time (around 10's release), not sure which I actually played first. My friend owned both and I saw him playing both and got interested

 

I never beat the original 7 because my little brother (or sister) overwrote my save with theirs lmao

 

10 was the first one I put an alarming amount of hours into and made my parents want to kill me due to printing out like 300 gamefaq walkthroughs

 

I’ve never played an FF game I didn’t like and that includes the little I played of Stranger of Paradise.
