81 on Metacritic. Frankly, not enough.

 

I forgot that Xenoblade Chronicles X released this week. I'm so ready for all of my free time to melt away into that game.

 

This looks really fun

 

I'm in the process of finishing Witcher 3 on PS5. I beat everything back when it originally released, but I missed a single Gwent card and opted not to play on death march difficulty. I now have the platinum this time around, and I'm about to 100% Blood and Wine.

 

Shadows looks like a wait for deep discount during holiday sales later this year, just like Valhalla (which I love) and odyssey (which I hate)

 

Did the first octopath ever come back to gamepass? I had played about half of it a few years ago til it got yanked off before octopath 2 came out. Would like to finish it


anyway octopath traveler 2 is one of the greatest games ever made and everyone should play it even if you think you don’t like JRPGs

 

AC getting low to mid 80s seems on par for Ubisoft. No big shocker imo, and reviews seem split on people who were expecting same ol AC and people who expected shadows to push the series in new directions. I dunno if ubi feels comfortable taking risks anymore seeing star wars unfortunately bombed. Might as well play it "safe". Oh well I'll put a hundred hours in! I think people forget the original GoT originally got an 83 MC and that games awesome. The director cut just made it *better*.

Main negatives I'm seeing is:
Doesn't push the series forward (I'm fine with ubi slop, I really don't know HOW or WHAT the game can do to satisfy some people)
Microtransactions (this has been a thing for over a decade, no surprise there)
Lack of direct focus with having two different protags with completely different play styles (should have made a ninja only AC game duh)
Graphics coming at the expense of performance

Definitely gonna try the 40fps and see how it performs....it looks nice but 60fps is like my default nowadays.

It's made by Odyssey team, take that for what it's worth.

 

hate is a strong word but it’s myriad of disparate systems never came together in a meaningful way and at times actively made the game far more frustrating and tedious than it should’ve been

 

"Frustrating and tedious" basically sums up how I felt at times too. While I was a sucker for the setting, playing it wasn't the best AC experience. I feel Valhalla was a much more improved overall experience so hopefully that even if it's different teams, Valhalla being the most successful made some changes to its core systems. I've also seen that sentiment (reminds some of just an upgraded Valhalla) and I'm like ooooh yes plz!

 

Valhalla just had such unobtrusive side content whereas odyssey just bombarded you with meaningless meandering side stuff every ten feet. And I’ve spoken at length about the level gating in odyssey being the worst in any open world game I’ve played while Valhalla did not have any level gating. It was a big improvement. If it’s more like that I’ll probably like it a lot. But yeah I don’t think I’m gonna get it at full price

REm4ke was making me dizzy. changed some aim sensitivity and fov settings so that probably fixed it.

not sure i'll be able to finish this before TLOU2 comes to PC, or rather, not sure doing so is the priority at this point. already put Jedi Survivor on hold to play this. been spending more time watching shows than playing games recently

 

Starting a replay with TLOU2 on the portal, hope it holds up well. Going to try new game+ on the hard+ but I can foresee having to drop it down lol

 

Replaying final fantasy xvi on new game plus, probably gonna snag dlc after im done too

 

I love Shannon Woodward, I really hope she comes back in TLOU3 if it ever happens.
