Damn it guys first RDR2 now BioShock...

BioShock is my favourite game of all time. The setting and soundtrack were dripping with atmosphere and I adored the art style. Fucking gorgeous game. Loved the sound design. Loved the story. Loved the concept. Loved the gameplay.

I can appreciate going back to it now it probably feels dated, but my god I’ve never been so taken with a game setting in all my life. Would kill for a new one back in Rapture. First visiting that place gave me shivers down my spine.

That being said, the end boss fight is a glaring failure on what’s for me, an otherwise brilliant experience.

2 I enjoyed an awful lot because of the new gameplay mechanics - everything felt streamlined and it was more of the same. Which I dig. I get why others didn’t think it was evolved enough or whatever.

Cannot stand Infinite however. The setting is pants and just nah. Coming from the dread of the dark, crumbling and downright beautiful Rapture (which at the time almost seemed...feasible) and transporting you to a city in the bright, colourful sky kinda just marred the tone of those games for me. Call me daft but a city in the sky was just tooooo silly, in comparison to Rapture.

I think a game like Bully is redundant in today’s world personally. Never enjoyed the first and just sat thinking...man...in GTA I could do so much more. Just felt restricted to me. Know that’s a dumb logic but idk - it’s the same format by the same developer just pared down and more child-friendly. The humour and gameplay wasn’t enough to interest me.

Bully was pretty cool, but I don't really understand the hype either

Maybe not, but it’s the same sandbox style, mission-based Rockstar game you’d come to expect from them - just pared down. I went into it obviously knowing it wasn’t called GTA, but still did feel a little restricted. I don’t even know what it was I wanted to do that I couldn’t. Just felt that after playing the GTA games, sandbox titles from Rockstar lend themselves to being able to do almost anything you want (within reason and yeah yeah RDR2 cupboards or whatever) and Bully didn’t have that same vibe for me. Of course you shouldn’t be able to do half of what you do in GTA in a Bully game as a child...but being spoiled by GTA in general made me miss that. And given today’s climate with American schools and that...maybe it’s not worth bothering.
