That makes sense, it definitely seems more like something Nintendo would.

 

Has anyone played The Messenger? It looks pretty tight but I've heard some mixed things about the second half of the game.

...Trying to talk myself out of buying Mario Maker for a trip I'm going on next week because I really don't have the money for it

 

I really liked the Messenger but yeah, without spoiling what happens, I don’t think the design of the game is good enough for its ambitious twist. I thought the second half was frustrating, and the last like 30 minutes in particular really fell apart for me. Gonna play the DLC anyway (downloading it now, actually) because I really liked it for a while—just thought it got overly ambitious at the end and lost track of what it was really excelling at.

 

I know the twist, and I actually prefer that style of game. It just sounds like it wasn’t done well which is unfortunate. Still recommend? It’s on sale for $13

Yeah I’d say it’s worth playing. My biggest issue is that the map design doesn’t really support turning into that kind of game. It got pretty frustrating for me, but the side scrolling gameplay is really, really good. Once you have all the abilities especially, it controls really well.

 

The Messenger got wonderful new free DLC today.

 

I just bought it, gona finish Bloodstained tonight (hopefully) and then check it out.

Beat Cuphead this morning. What an amazing game. I hope it gets a sequel

 

DLC coming next year! even an animated series adaptation in the works. very exciting times for that franchise.

 

Cuphead sold a shitload of copies. However, it was also apparently a nightmare to make. I wonder what that means for a second one.

 

Something about advertising the film like that weirds me out.

 

So that new CoD is basically Call of Battlefield Six Siege Duty

 

If it gets slower-paced and more tactical I’d be very excited. I’m interested given what we’ve heard so far. Minus the ridiculous ‘oh my god IGN staff cried at the demo’ talk.

 

They had a slight reveal yesterday, 4 streamers played the new 2v2 gamemode on 3 different maps. Gameplay looks fun, movement is slower and that's where I'm drawing the Siege/Battlefield comparisons from

Turned off the auto renew for my network sub. I don't really play anything with online multiplayer, so it doesn't feel like much of a loss.
