haha I honestly don't now, none of my friends played it when I was younger plus I never really owned a Nintendo portable. I'm very excited for sword/shield though!

 

I honestly just can't imagine this lol. I enjoy a lot of things, a lot of video game franchises, but Pokémon is literally my favourite thing EVER. Starting with Sword/shield will definitely be a unique experience that not many people will have, but there's so many incredible games in this series that a 3DS is worth it for them alone imo

Well hey, it's never too late, right? but I thought instead of starting with Let's Go I thought I'd wait for the new proper Switch one and see how I get on.

There's nothing addictive than playing Pokémon online. And I say this as someone who otherwise isn't interested in online games.

 

Competitive Pokemon is insanely awesome

 

The Mario movie is being done by Illumination though, so...yeah...

 

Damn. The only Mario game I’ve ever played is the first one on gameboy colour. The only Pokemon I’ve ever played is yellow.

 

Yeah there’s no way they can capture the depth and the drama that is Mario

 

Illumination has buttered their bread with vibrant animated movies centered around semi-mute mascots, i think it'll be fine

The original R/B/Y are so bad compared to the rest of the series including Firered/leaf green. Nostalgia doesn't make me look past the game breaking mechanics lol

 

I think they’re still good for what they are, but except for historical curiosity or appreciation, there’s no good reason to play them rather than the remakes or the DS titles (and I guess 3DS titles, though I would not start with Sun/Moon).

 

I enjoyed Tomb Raider (the 2013 version) and just bought Rise and Shadow of the Tomb Raider, excited to get into those for a bit

 

Just think they got it right with Gold/Silver. RBY feels like a rough first attempt like the first game in a lot of series do

 

Yes, but only if you played the others. RBY were a revelation as far as the Game Boy goes.

 

Rise is extremely good but shadow sucks ass, except for graphics. I can’t fathom what happened here.

 

I kinda think the first one is the best one

 

Lol right it doesn’t matter that a mediocre-at-best studio is making it just because it’s an animated movie based on a video game, it doesn’t have to be good!
