Kinda getting fed up of games lately. To the point where I’d rather just watch YouTube and see other people play them. It always feels like such a commitment and it’s mentally exhausting. I come home from work and I’m just like...eurgh.

Just not really excited about any current games right now.

 

I don’t feel like playing games a lot of time because of the whole commitment thing you mentioned, but before I watch other people play games they’d have to cancel all other forms of entertainment, haha

 

I’d love nothing more than if PlayStation and Xbox were to be one because having more than one device is stupid as hell. Switch non withstanding.

 

Give me a yo-yo over watching people play games anyday

Not that this news has anything to do with that, but if there'd only be one device, consumer friendly policies, as far as they exist currently, would be out the window so fast. Most of the progress that has been made in that regard in the last 15 years has been because of the competition between Microsoft's and Sony's consoles.

Whats so crazy about watching someone who is extremely talented play a game that I like?

I am obsessed with watching speedruns.

 

I don't watch them, but I have some understanding for watching speedruns etc.

I also never said there is something wrong with watching people play games. Just that I can't see myself doing it.

I just hear casual folks be like, WOW YOU WATCH VIDEO GAMES AND INSTEAD OF PLAYING THEM!?!?!

Then they proceed to watch 543 hours of professional football on their disgusting recliner chair every week, i'm not asking WOW YOU DONT PLAY FOOTBALL YOU JUST WATCH!!?!?!? whats wrong with you?!?

Not that I want to be part of this argument, but I think the difference is that the average person is probably a lot more able to play video games than most people are to play football, both physically and in terms of time etc lol
