Ok it took me a few runs to get the hang of it, but I’m officially addicted to Into the Breach.

You’d be surprised at the amount of people there that don’t speedrun lol, myself included

doesn’t speed running an rpg kind of defeat the purpose of an rpg? maybe it’s just the ones I’ve played but it’s a genre where I always wanna take my time and soak in everything even on repeat plays

I will say RPG speedruns are a chore to watch. A run of FFVI was like almost seven hours long at SGDQ last year

  10. The most ridiculous RPG speedrun I've seen is definitely the Nemesis % for FFX

That's an easy ~20 hour run right there.

Haha I'm sure there is definitely a casual play through before deciding to shred the game up.

They are fascinating to watch though. Watching FF 6 beat in 5 hours without any glitches is a long but incredible watch.

I love watching speedruns so much and have no idea why. It just impresses me. I'll watch like 50 perscent of the GDQ events live when they happen twice a year. Most people do not share that sentiment with me though hah.

GDQ is just fun, like it’s really cool to watch people run through these games and explain their process. I’ve learned a bit about game design through it.

Do you have any tips for enjoying this game? I got it around the time it came out and I got like 4 hours in and there was so much nuance in the combat and world that it made my head spin and I just didn't know enough about the story to continue so I bailed

playing Night In the Woods now

feels more like a graphic novel than a game but it is fucking excellent

What are some of the best indie games I’ve missed over the past couple years? I’ve got all three major consoles and I’m looking to dive into something new. I recently got Enter the Gungeon but I’m looking for some more.

    Favorite indies include:
    Super Meat Boy
    Hyper Light Drifter
    Celeste
    Dead Cells
    Cuphead

Thimbleweed Park is p cool if you’re into point and click and I hear Kentucky Route Zero is incredible

    Journey is legendary

    Play the Yakuza series

Finished chapter two of Yakuza 0 and damn this game is something else. The map is so small yet has so much jammed into it and reminds me that just because a map is big doesn't always mean it's actually good lmao.

Yeah they are good at that, though it still feels weird to me to play a urban open world game without vehicles
