I waited months after launch and played it after they had patched all the problems out but I still have to ding it because of the state it launched in

Hmmm trying to remember who the second boss is, i'm pretty deep in, probably about halfway. I'm amazed at how quickly I picked back up and felt comfortable playing again.

 

It was better pre-patch, provided you were lucky and had no problems like me. The crowd tech was amazing.

Yes I actively avoid it whenever humanly possible in Odyssey, I'll literally just run (sail?) away from fights because it's so unenjoyable to me

 

Spending some time to find tablets to upgrade your ship helps A LOT. Focus on the hull, arrows and fire. Because mandatory ship battles keep coming up.

 

Black Flag still the best AC game.
