any of y’all played all the From Software Souls type games - which one is best and where does Demons Souls land?

 

I haven't played the remake but I would rank the OG Demon's Souls at the bottom of the list. And not because it's a bad game, it's just because everything that came after it is all so damn good. But Demon's Souls is also really great. It's just, something has to be at the bottom of the list.

 

At the same time, the remake is probably the best entry point to the series.

 

Idk, I still think Dark Souls Remastered is probably the best "first" Souls game to play. Demon's Souls has some quirky weirdness to it that is easier to handle if you've played through at least one other Souls game before.

 

Bloodborne is the best.

 

Either way you're going to be pissed off and lost for a bit

 

Been playing Dark Souls Remastered for the first time over the last few weeks and it may be my favorite experience with these games so far, although Bloodborne is up there as well. I've also played some of 3 but don't remember much.

the Demon's Souls remake is probably the next game I'll get for PS5, never had a PS3 so didn't get to try the original

speaking of Dark Souls, the ability to fast travel between fires being locked until after defeating ornstein and smough (who are beating my ass) is some bullshit

 

I actually played Demons a bit when it first came out and then DS1 a bit back when that came out. Never got far but I always thought they were badass. Fast forward to now and there’s a shit ton of these kind of games now - If I wanna try and actually get into them I’m wondering which is coolest at this point?

is how I'd rank them without having played the remake of Demon's. I'm hoping that will help elevate it to the level of the others for me because I adore the other 5.

 

Anyone who doesn't list Bloodborne as #1 can't be trusted and should be shunned.

 

Bloodborne is probably the easiest imo, also has a sick atmosphere and probably some of my favorite boss battles of this generation.
