hahaha except David Cage narratives suck ass

 

Yup, the relentless tapping to run is my least favorite part about GTA/RDR.

 

I always feel like they have the structure for a good story but they never really pay off.

 

I felt that way about RDR1, except maybe the last part

 

So I haven't bought it yet lol. I loved rdr1. Is 2 essentially the same? So if I loved 1 there's a good chance I'll like 2?

 

just be prepared for a slow burning cinematic experience that is polarizing in a way that devolves into an argument of enthusiastically enjoyed immersion vs. insufferably slow and sluggishly paced gameplay and traversal

 

Beat Demons Souls last night. Incredibly proud of it and will probably never pick up a goddamn souls game again

 

Incredibly mediocre and borderline lackluster

 

We aren’t talking about AC here

 

I mean Valhalla is excellent but sure go off

 

Vikings are boring

 

Origins and Odyssey were both great too

 

so far I'd rank them Origins > Valhalla = Odyssey

 

Origins seems like it’d be perfect if it werent for the pointless grinding

 

they should give you the xp booster for free. the grind was some gacha level bullshit lol

 

yeah I’ve determined Origins and Odyssey aren’t for me because of the grinding and Valhalla looks underwhelming to me atm but better on the grinding front. maybe AC isn’t for me idk but I really want to like it.

I can't explain the differences without people getting mad at me but no they're not the same at all. The friendliest way to put it is that RDR2 is slower in every possible way.

 

This is fucked up, but I truly believe that the 10$ permanent XP boost is a crucial ingredient for making Origins and Odyssey great. It basically eliminates grinding and makes progressions natural. Whatever the games costs, add 10$ and that's the actual price.

 

Finished up Yakuza 0 last night, amazing game start to finish. Only noticeable downside I had was just how grindy the real estate and cabaret club minigames got in the end. Wasn't even a hard grind, just an exhausting one by the end of it. Still got two new fighting styles for finishing it that were totally worth it though. Anyone who has Xbox Games Pass has no excuse to at least try it haha

 

I think I'm burnt out on Rockstar games now, last one that I loved recently was GTA V and even now that game can seem like a slog to get through now just thinking about it.

 

To be fair, with the amount of content in that game, that is the only sensible price. I don’t understand why they make those games *so* big.

 

Yeah I mean I didn’t feel like I overpaid, but I still think it’s an odd move lol

 

I think GTAV (but only the Xbox One/PS4 version) is amazing and did most things right that RDR2 got wrong, but it’s at least 25% too long
