They have to be. That in November and Pokemon Snap in December would help soften the Halo sized hole in my heart.

 

I remember someone saying “Sony and Microsoft announces fall release dates, why can’t Nintendo?”. As we can see from Halo, you can’t believe any date right now, so not announcing it is the right thing to do instead of taking the five minutes of fame.

 

there’s a difference between announcing a game with a hard release date (“it’s launching with the Series X”) and announcing a game with a tentative release window that is subject to change due to the current global crisis

 

Pokémon Snap is, like, at least a year away if not more.

 

Deep down I agree with you, but the optimist in me wants to think maybe they can get it out this holiday.

 

It's not a question of optimism, that trailer they showed for it was clearly an extremely rough first look at a game that is in no way close to being done.

Control has a free upgrade for ps5/series x if you buy the new ultimate edition that was just announced. People that already have it are shit out of luck and have to rebuy the ultimate edition if they want to play the game on next gen consoles

I think so too. But it's worse to only give the next gen upgrade to people that buy the new version.

 

there is going to be an upgrade path for everyone else too, just not free. but that's like buying TLOU1 + DLC on PS3 and complaining you're not getting the PS4 DE for free.

 

Oh yeah I agree. Just think saying you only get our upgrade for next gen if you buy this new current gen version is a really shitty way to go about it.
