most accessible doesn't mean easiest. The challenge will still obviously be there, but having way more options on where you want to go if you get stuck with something obviously makes it a more inviting game. You don't have to keep fighting a difficult boss for ages to progress if you don't want to, there's other things to explore and have fun with while you level up and tighten your skills. Also it seems like there's more options on how to proceed with things than ever before.

The golden standard that all games should follow if they choose to make a game “accessible” is Celeste.

As far as the decision as to whether or not to make a game accessible, that’s a conversation for another lifetime.

 

Even though I don't like the game itself, TLOU2 had amazing accessibility settings that did not just result in "add an easy mode"

 

TLOU 2 was god-tier in that regard.
