The amount of hours I watch a steamer is maybe an hour or 2 every other week. I mostly just see them on Twitter feeds

C’mon. We’re in a video game thread. Am I the only one that will actually admit to following a couple of Steamers on social media? I truly don’t understand the big deal of it

 

I like watching gaming-related videos on Youtube but I can't really get into watching live streamers. Don't see the appeal at all personally. Especially when they're pieces of shit like Dr. Disrespect.

 

I watch one streamer that does a lot of kaizo Mario all the time. But he hasn’t proved to be a shit head so far

 

I've never been into streamers and don't really get it. I have watched a few podcasters I follow on twitch but that's a different thing I think

I find it fascinating that there's a guy who calls himself that though

 

I used to watch Let's Play videos a ton for a good couple of years and watched Achievement Hunter a lot so I totally get the appeal of watching a streamer if you find them entertaining.

For context, this was during a time I had a busted graphics card and couldn't play games so I was also living vicariously through other people, but the only reason I stopped is because I started getting more into anime and I only have so much time in the day.

 

I also don’t get the appeal of watching other people play video games when you could just… play them yourself

 

i get the appeal of watching games perfectly. most games arent worth playing.

i dont at all get the appeal of the personalities behind youtube streaming and instagram influencing etc. and the surrounding community.

 

Yeah I definitely see how people wouldn’t enjoy watching someone else play a game. If I watch any it’s usually just something at the end of the day and background noise while doing stuff for work or before bed. I see most clips from twitter feeds when I’m scrolling throughout the day.

 

Well besides the fact that I couldn't play them myself, some people are just entertaining and funny to watch.

Why did people like MST3K? Why watch a guy and his robots watch bad movies when you could watch the movies yourself? Because they're hilarious.
