that one newer ai follower mod for Skyrim is honestly insanely cool. you talk to it with a microphone. they dynamically react to and remember all of your conversations. a smart and curated implementation of the technology is undoubtedly part of the future.

I started up DOOM and you know I had to make my soundtrack a Metallica run through it fits perfect

 

I got about two chapters in and I’m slowly learning that you constantly need to be moving

That’s a struggle for a guy like me since I’m not very good at shooting games but we’ll get there

 

The trick is to constantly be singing "DOOM doom do-DOOM doom DOOM do-doom DOOM DOOM" while you play.

At this point, physical discs are just keys for games you gotta download anyway

 

I hate being that guy, but I'm actually okay with the death of physical media. The only reason I'd want it to continue to exist is for the other people who still enjoy them. But I can't see myself buying a physical copy of anything ever again.

 

I haven't made up my mind one way or other. but I def really only buy digital video games anymore

 

I buy physical movies and a vinyl record once in a blue moon but aside from that, digital all the way. Less clutter in your life

That's all pretty amazing and I forgot about all of that, but since we're on the subject, I present to you StarTropics.

In Chapter 4, you're required to enter a passcode to allow your submarine to enter deep water and progress in the game.

You are never told what this passcode is in the game.

What you're supposed to do is go to the physical instruction manual, which includes a letter from the main character's uncle.

You're supposed to dip the letter in water, which reveals the code, and then enter that code into the game.

Next level fuckery. That's the Nintendo way.

 

That's been proven to be a false statement really. I forget where I read it but something like 80% or so of games are playable from the disc, no downloads needed.
