This just gave me the biggest blast of nostalgia I’ve had in quite a while lol.

 

To be fair, it is actually noticeably larger lol

 

I’m glad this game ended up being exactly what I wanted and I’m able to just enjoy the hell out of it because most of the talk on the internet about it is insufferable

 

Maybe stuff like this is why so many terrible gamers online thinks every high scored review is paid for. I'd be curious to see if people do it for Metacritic as well

 

If you play games solely based upon a Metacritic score: I really can’t feel bad for you.

I tried looking up whether you can pick new backgrounds and traits in NG+, without spoiling anything. I still don't know why we're supposed to do only the main quest on our first playthrough but okay I'm just gonna go with it

If you’re wondering about backgrounds and traits, you do not get to select new ones in NG+
If you’re wondering why it’s recommended to prioritize the main quest (without getting into story spoilers), it’s because you don’t carry over items, money, exploration. You only carry over skills and another thing you’ll discover later.

 

Thankfully I don't, I play a lot of horseshit, but a lot of companies definitely keep track of Metacritic scores and the general perception of a game can be skewed if things get review bombed or if reviews get bought

 

Me neither, because you'd only be playing the hits.

 

I only use metacritic when I’m not fully sold on a game already and I’m trying to decide to buy it full price or wait for a sale.

 

I take back what I said earlier. Black Desert looks like a really cool MMORPG.

Do you recommend anyone in particular? I watch gameranx sometimes but not for their thoughts on games. Jake’s “before you buys” irk me most of the time

i do not like gameranx lol falcon is annoying and jake's analysis if you can call it that is always shallow as hell. skill up, mortismal, the completionist, ACG (sometimes), and thelazypeon (for anything MMO related) are pretty much my go-tos but i'll also just look up some gameplay without commentary and possibly some speed runs for the fuck of it


sorry but every before you buy video is literally "if you like this type of game, youll like it, if you dont, you wont"

Gameranx is fine. But there are some other great resources as well.

Mortismal and The Completionist are my go to.
