My pronouns are attack/helicopter lolol

 

I literally had to Google how to change my character‘s pronouns in Starfield. It‘s weird you had to confirm your name first with no indication that you‘ll get to change your pronouns after. Bad UX.

 

Oblivion and FO3 are my favs and the ones I’ve spent the most time with. Hopped back into FO4 recently though and am having a lot of fun

 

like i said im probably gonna have to wait a bit to play sea of stars but since its on sale i grabbed the messenger since i can probably beat it between now and when starfield drops or very shortly after and after two zones and bosses im loving this game

Forgot Sea of Stars was out, another game to add to my backlog. I still own and need to finish Divinity 2, Xenoblade 3, The Last of Us Part I, Metroid, Triangle Strategy, BG3....fuck.

FO4 would’ve been much better had the protagonist be silent and it stuck to the traditional Fallout conversation system. Also the perk system was a bold attempt but ultimately made the SPECIAL system redundant and took away the element of making hard choices about perks imo.

 

Also the DLC was largely a long messy wet fart

Got Gamepass streaming working really well on Steam Deck despite my basic ass internet.

Remote play from PS5 on the other hand works like total shit for me

Yeah somehow the voiced protagonist also turned me off, even though I usually like it in other, similar-ish RPGs (e.g. Bioware)

Expected but still amazing

 

I'm not the biggest fan of it in Bioware games either tbh. When it comes to western RPGs, where choice and consequence tends to be core part of their design, voiced protagonists just get in the way. I think the only time I've seen it done remotely well is Alpha Protocol. Which is a broken game overall but man that dialogue system is the truth.

 

Bring on the cabinet mechanics.

 

So I took a bit of a break from Trails, which I'm going to return to today shortly.

But I took a break because I got heavily invested in fiddling around with emulation, namely LaunchBox and their Big Box Mode, which I'm loving quite a bit now that I've got it looking how I want.

For those who don't know, the best way I can explain is LaunchBox is like Steam Library for emulators and roms. Someone even made a theme skin for it that makes it look like Steam's library, and it's pretty great. Big Box Mode is their version of Steam's Big Picture Mode, with its own themes, bells, and whistles.

Anyway, LaunchBox has a lot of QOL features that help you design it how you want it to look. They have a repository of various images and videos of every game you can think of, which you can download and use as art to help pretty up the interface, and multiple ways you can have that art arranged.

I can't really get a picture to show you how my finished product looks, but I used the Unified theme someone made and so I have a scroll wheel of system logos to choose from that gives way to a wheel of game logos.

So let's say I spin the wheel and stop on Dreamcast. If I wait, it will play a video showing off the Dreamcast system and show footage of various games like Sonic Adventure and Shenmue. So then if I go into the games and stop on Sonic Adventure, it'll show me what information it has about Sonic Adventure, show the box art, show a screenshot or two, until I select the game or move on.

It's really pretty now that it's all come together, and was well worth the effort I put into getting it set up.

 

Very much my life without irony.

I'm sad all the time.

But I earned trophies.

 

When I die, God's gonna be so impressed with my Steam achievements.
