Gamers wearing deodorant to a convention is impossible

 

Is there a story behind this or do conventions just regularly have a musky odor?

 

I honestly have no idea because I've never been to a convention but I hear they are very rough sometimes, I just wanted to make a quip

cosplayed at wondercon in 2011 and I was soaked in sweat by the end it was nasty. It gets real hot and musky in there. All the deodorant in the world wont save you.

 

I’ve said this before but I’ve been to PAX and even Blizzcon and nothing compares to the Skyrim midnight release I had to work back in the day.

The entire place smelled like literal shit

 

We had people at my college who studied in the game design and game art degrees and they had to be constantly told to shower. It was embarrassing. They had their own building so thankfully I never had to go there.

Some nerds are disgustingly dirty.

 

I seriously can't live unless I shower in the morning. I don't know how people do otherwise.

 

I don't think I could ever go to a convention. Gencon is going on right now and it looks like insanity

 

Dragoncon in Atlanta is an absolute blast each year. It's massive and takes place in 4 downtown hotels for 4 days and the entire downtown actually looks like a real, functioning, vibrant downtown (which it's not). Panels start around 930AM each day, and then events go till 2 in the morning, and it basically becomes a club in cosplay for the last 4 hours. It's always a fun mix of people - those there for the panels, and then those there to just dress up and party. I'm somewhere in the middle. It also conincides with the opening of college football so then you get people travelling in that are like 'wtf is this city?'.

It never gets the best of guests (its not a huge celebrity draw), but it's always decent enough (had the cast of the boys, the expanse, brandon sanderson), and always so much fun.

And yes - most people deodorant! I've never had too stinky of an experience.... WAIT... does that mean I'M THE ONE WHO STINKS??

 

Welp, its official. My son played his first game of Gears Horde and says he loves it. I will only let him play that mode for now other than the campaign.

 

Youmacon, a huge anime convention in Michigan every year, is notorious for being gross lol.

 

I told my brother I like old school Tekken, but never understood the lore. He said to get part 7 on PlayStation Plus and they have all the cut scenes from the previous games in a gallery. I’m only on part 4’s story and it’s bonkers. I honestly like these characters more than Mortal Kombat.
