The GOAT genre

 

Agreed on BG3. I am not far at all, just hanging around in the druid camp but a few highlights already (no spoilers)...

- Absolutely gorgeous in all ways. Environmental effects, the map design, the UI...
- The amount of characters and voiced lines is insane and just massive even with just the small chunk I've entered.
- The sense of freedom just 4 hours in is mind boggling. So many characters already making me mull over decisions, and hidden areas where you have to decide if it's worth breaking into or not and the consequences of said attempt.
- While frustrating when it doesn't go your way, all the dice rolls means everyone is going to get a truly unique experience. I am trying not to spam save and spam load if things don't go the way I want and just roll (pun intended) with the outcome..
- The tutorial is great, everything is being explained well.
- Love the 'dungeon master' voice acting.

The only negatives and bugs:
- The version number in the corner is a distracting oversight.
- My half orc has a beard and the physics on it are pretty wonky, it has a mind of it's own and is like flying around in cut scenes like it's a living thing trying to leave my characters face.
