I think it’s a really good game despite its flaws, but I never quite thought it was the be-all and end-all game it sometimes was/is made out to be

there’s a bit of a common mentality around these parts that goes something like “I think this game is good but other people think it’s better than I do so I’m gonna spend an inordinate amount of time talking about how bad it is”

The Witcher 3’s quality has always been under scrutiny since it came out in the same year as Bloodborne and the people that enjoy system driven games with deep mechanics never gelled with the floaty combat, it led to quite some heated debates around GOTY season.

But hey guess what, if you’re on the other side of the fence, more power to you. make sure you pick up a copy of RDR2 while you’re at it.
