I'm not paralyzed by choice anymore thankfully, I just don't think I'll enjoy anything which is way worse haha

I've realized my ultimate goal is to just have everything I can in my gaming library that's notable. I want to have a curated library of everything. So when I die, people will see my library and know what gaming was.

My PC internal storage is 500gig and I have a 1TB external drive for it and that fits a good amount of my gamepass, steam, and the few epic games store title I have so I figure 1TB should be plenty since there’s a good few games I own that won’t run on deck yet (really hope they get the dragon age games working properly some day)

RE - We have talked about this...

You can argue semantics, but it's a full length campaign and it's also every bit as ground breaking as both HL1 and HL2 were at the time, just slightly less accessible. I have a gaming laptop, and I played it sitting down with a quest 2 and I felt like I got a truly immersive experience (which is why I'll always argue that it's easier for people to play than they think). I used continuous motion, but snap turning at 15 degrees and sat about 2 ft from my laptop with plenty of arm space (and I'd have sat further with a longer cord). You click a trigger to go from crouching to standing and you use those sweet gravity gloves to grab at stuff.

Anyway - it's of high enough quality, and impactful enough to the universe, that it's the 3rd half life game but it's not HL3 as those naming rights are clearly reserved for a story featuring Gordon. I just want to reiterate though that it's not some tech demo with a half life coat of paint on it (not that anyone is really saying that).

EDIT: If the non-VR version catches on, I think it'd be kind of boring and will disappoint most people. The combat encounters are relatively limited and probably not challenging played in a conventional way. Plus the standout 'set pieces' of the game, are entirely catered to take advantage of VR. Play it if you're a half life fan, but it won't have half the wow factor that I'm selling it as.

If you want old school, Castlevania: Rondo Of Blood on TurboGrafx-CD or Castlevania III for NES.

Metroidvania has to be Symphony Of The Night.

There's a compilation on PSP that has both Rondo and SOTN, actually.

Just play Symphony of the Night dude @sophos34. It's on a bunch of consoles or just throw it on your steam deck with a PS rom.

Yeah, but that's the one with the different voice acting, if he's emulating stuff he might as well just do the PS1 version.

There's people who don't mind the "new" voice acting and will recommend the PS4 version of Symphony of The Night.

I really liked Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow. I'm pretty sure there's a Advance collection that was just on sale on Switch, still might be.
