Spent the weekend playing Lone Fungus. Really excellent Metroidvania.

Do people just hate it because it's VR? It's quite a good game.

 

I personally haven't played it, but if it was Half Life 3 they would've called it that.

 

I get that, I just feel like people are unnecessarily upset about it not being 3. Isn't it good they even made a new Half Life game? It means the series is still alive and people may get a direct follow up to 3 in the future.

I just saw a lot of discourse about it "not being a real half life game" because it was a VR exclusive when it came out.

 

By the way, none of this is accusatory or anything on you. I'm just curious because I don't have a history with the franchise and people just seemed really bummed it wasn't an official 3rd entry that was a true sequel to 2.

 

I don't think I'd take it that far. If I had VR I would've already played it and probably liked it. Borderlands the Pre-Sequel was a good time but it wasn't Borderlands 3, which we eventually got. Fallout New Vegas is often someone's favorite entry in the series but we don't call it Fallout 4, which we eventually got

I love the examples because in both cases I prefer the non-numbered entries by a lot haha

 

I’m gonna get Survivor on Series X since Game Pass already has EA Play baked in and the graphics/frame rate will probably be more stable on it too.

Also downloaded a bunch of games to emulate last night. Pokémon leaf green, xenogears, legend of dragon (which I need multiple discs for I guess lol same with xeno), the gba and gamecube fire emblem titles, sonic adventure 2, super Mario rpg, the possibilities are endless

 

Do people not get in trouble for downloading games?

 

Most Ea games get a 10 hour trial on ea play. But some games don’t get them at all. The only platform you get full access for Star Wars is on pc if you pay for ea play pro.

also fallen order wasn’t on ea play until months after the game came out.

according to Charlie Intel there’s no ea play trial for survivor

 

Rom sites aren’t particularly hard to find, and they usually go after the people making the roms if anyone

 

Still impatiently waiting for Nintendo to add some Pokemon games to their GB and GBA switch online emulators. I don't like using a touch screen to play on my phone

Figured out how to play PokeMMO on the Steam Deck and it works surprisingly well.

 

I don't think I'd download and emulate games because then I'd just have even more games I would never play. I don't even play the ones I buy.

 

I want my ecosystem of gaming to be like stepping into a library with lots of choice and access lol idk why because you’re right I’ll have an infinite backlog but I still play a lot of games I’m not paralyzed by choice or anything
