i already have the PS4 version but my dumbass is gonna get the switch version on thursday bc I absolutely love this game so much lmao

 

So I tried playing it on PS4 but couldn't get through the first hour or so, do you think if I stick with it that I'll enjoy it? Is there a lot of caretaking you have to do for your digimon because that seems pretty tedious.

 

I love the duality between certain games like this on different platforms.


Same as Dark Souls 3. You can get the game on console for essentially nothing. PC? Nope $60 and never goes on sale. Keys for it are somehow even more

 

I definitely got dark souls 3 for around 30 bucks shortly after elden ring came out. But it was on sale for obvious reasons

 

i think so! it definitely starts up slow but it does start to build up, i personally think the battle system is pretty unique ableit a bit simplistic but it’s different than others.

I wouldn’t say there’s TOO MUCH caretaking but it’s pretty like having a pet (monster rancher has the exact same similarities) and this is was one of my first PS4 games since I got my PS4 so late in its life cycle and I couldn’t get into it at first and I did drop it initially but I guess my love for digimon kind of reignited my will to play the game especially since it was around the time digimon Survive was coming out

tl;dl i say, give it a few more hours but if you’re still not enjoying it, then just drop it!

If you haven’t tried the digimon story games, I say give those a go bc those are more your traditional JRPGS especially cyber sleuth and hacker’s memory

Please don't be sorry! I asked in the first place and I'm glad to get someone's opinion from someone who really enjoys the franchise.

I think I will give it another shot! I started Survive, but never beat it. It was way more visual novel than I was hoping for but I love the art and the tone of it. I did play Cyber Sleuth. I really would love a big AAA feeling game from them. I think the Digimon universe and characters/monsters are so cool and they could really do something special with it.

 

Survive is REALLY good, honestly one of my GOTY’s last year and yes it’s way more visual novel but the art and the darkened tone of it brought me in. I was so stoked for this game and it has not let me down. I also did enjoy the tactical aspect of it, i always thought it was a nice addition too! I have about like 50 plus hours and I’m slow progressing toward the true ending. The first few hours are a bit of a slog but once it gets going, IT GETS GOING. Do you know how far you are in it?

They actually have another game in the story franchise currently in development and I do believe it’s on a bigger budget than past Digimon games so I’m excited for that when they’re ready to reveal it.

 

I will say this is one of the last good threads on the website. So much other bullshit going on elsewhere on the forums I really only check this and politics regularly

 

The recommendations in this thread definitely keep me here.

I am only a few hours into Survive! It's really interesting, but it is so so hard for anything to keep my attention nowadays with my ADHD. But I think what I'll do it just take two days and just sit down with it and take a big chunk out of it. I think a lot of those games you need the story to build and get going a bit before you really get to the good stuff.

I had no idea they had a new game in development that's supposed to be big budget. I wonder what it's going to be like. I really loved Digimon World 3. I've played some of the trading card game too last year and thought that was really fun. Do they have any mobile game or anything? Because I think just raising a Digimon and taking it with you on the go would be really neat.

I’ve only ever played digimon world 1, digimon Racing, digimon Battle spirit and digimon all star rumble but I do have all the PS1 digimon games on my psp (hehe) so I’ll get to them at some point

They did have a mobile game but I believe they shut down some time last year, unfortunately.
