On another topic I've been finally playing the Trails series on my Steam Deck and I'm loving the first game, had played a bit with my wife before on the computer but being able to play on the deck is perfect. I recognize it's gonna be a LONG endeavor but it's such a good time and feels very well paced for how long I know it's going to be

I loved almost everything about DS3 but platforming in it was such a nightmare cuz of that damn jump configuration

I got stuck on this one part of skate and I just wanna rage quit the game for a while lol

 

It’s real simple: everyone knows the Pokémon games have serious graphical and technical issues. However people value different things especially for different games. Yes, nostalgia is attached to Pokémon, yes the rest of the game is fucking phenomenal and the best Pokémon game in forever, yes they could have gone further and missed out on some potential. All of this is true, and when I say so far this is an easy 8.5-9/10 I am not “ignoring” or “giving a pass” to anyone for anything, I’m just asserting the things that I personally value in a Pokémon game may not be the same as what you value in a Pokémon game. That’s okay without needing to get mad that people can enjoy these games. It just irks me to see claims that it’s being ignored or given a pass, the fuck do you want me to do? I’m not gonna not play the games, and you’re more than welcome to not play the games if you don’t want to lol


Which is all to say: people aren’t being too hard on gamefreak but people are being too hard on other people who think the game is great

 

I don't think it's valuing something as simple as 30 fps vs 60 fps. People are literally falling through the map, growing to a huge size, hard freezing, watching Pokemon disappear and other giant glitches.

 

It's just really bad for a $60 game from a studio like Game Freak.

 

I have nothing against Pokémon, I just haven't had a Nintendo since N64. I joke that I'd get one if Pokémon looked lke HZD but, inversely, Monster Hunter has been on PC and my friends want me to get it and I still haven't. It's not even about the graphics, I can still enjoy stuff like Ghost Song and Dead Cells. It seems like the latest game had some problems at launch and that genuinely sucks. Me, though, I'm just not that interested. I did Pokémon Go for like a week haha

Also big games being $60 and buggy at launch seems like a universal thing and that's a whole different, like, industry-wide problem

Players Log: The recent patch that rolled out fixed all my problems with Vampire Survivors. Last night I had a great run and unlocked a witch character that throws out cats and it’s hysterical. When they hit an enemy they meow and “scratch” them.

Contender for GOTY in my book.

 

Warzone is predictably glitchy, but the proximity chat is fun/funny as hell

 

Played a bunch of DMZ and some BR. Have no idea what’s going on but got a decent amount of kills
