The game definitely looks much nicer on Series X after the patch, especially in Ray Tracing mode. I love DF but this is one of those videos were I’m like screaming HALF THIS SHIT DOESN’T MATTER at it that said though.

 

Player's Log: Machina Of The Planet Tree: Planet Ruler.

This game is working my every nerve.

So I'm in this volcano area, and the first boss I fight there, I think I have an epiphany about the combat system. Each character had at least one move that did decent damage to the boss, so if I chained combos just right using the appropriate move and their super version, I could whittle his health away. This made the battle feel almost like a puzzle I was solving, and got me invested in the game again.

Then the second boss proceeded to throw that logic out the window, because even the attacks it was weak against did pathetic damage, and it quickly became another battle of attrition, which I still won, but it was long and tedious.

Look, I think we all know I'm finishing this game. I'm in it for the long haul now, and at this point it's more spite than anything. I've invested enough time to where I'm not going to throw all that progress away by not completing this.

Fuck you, game. Fuck you.

 

Pentiment might be the very first Xbox exclusive that I've ever been jealous of.

Having the best run, lmao. 6 weapons are fully evolved and it’s just pure chaos on the screen. This photo doesn’t do it justice what’s going on.

 

i never played persona 5 royal, just the vanilla version. but now i don't think i can ever go back to vanilla. so many quality of life additions, baton pass at the start, not having to go to bed after the mementos. insane.

Between Vampire Survivors, Somerville and Pentiment we will be eating good.

 

not to be a dabbie downer, but GameSpot gave Pentiment a 6 because they were annoyed by the game's time restraint (think Majora's Mask)



However, the Metacritic average is sitting pretty at 85.

Who cares about game of the year when the best category should easily be Nibel

 

TLOU2 gameplay is sublime imo

no one else is even doing that kind of survival horror gameplay anymore. but its modernized and has ALOT going for it. the implementation of the mechanics is awesome. the sprinting and aiming and climbing is great. the reloading and aiming is panicky. the stealth and the brutality is satisfying.

 

@mescalineeyes did you say Ragnaroks graphics look dated? i havent played it yet, just havent seen anyone else say that. just curious not putting you on blast or anything.
