Not to take away from anything, and please, correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't all characters in Final Fantasy games technically non-white? They're meant to be Japanese, aren't they? I just kind of assumed that was the case, and if it is, then suggesting FF is dominated by white people is somewhat disingenuous.

 

Fuck that tweet and whoever that geek is. Yoshi provided a well thought out answer and has clearly spent time reflecting about it with himself.

 

Very over "it's historical" as an excuse, it's bad, especially in a high fantasy game

I'm a big Yoshi-P fan obviously given how long I've played FFXIV but that answer is incredibly sloppy, and leaves so little clarity on what he's actually trying to say while also echoing the bullet points of things people complain about with House Of The Dragon/Rings of Power/whatever. Feels like he's trying to say it's not a major focus but is somewhat present? But the way the answer is presented doesn't come across that way at all and more than anything feels like a giant deflection and can't really give him the benefit of the doubt on it when he goes about this so poorly

 

I do disagree, I think it's too early to execute him for it but he could've certainly done better

 

I just don't like the paraphrasing in a tweet.
