If it’s like a Steam Deck/Steam Deck clone, I could see them appealing to that market. However, Xbox is a home entertainment brand so unless it’s got some killer specs, it’s definitely gonna get drowned by Nintendo.

I still don't understand how a studio just came out of fucking nowhere and immediately nailed how to make a Souls game, literally everything about it. and then improved it by making it engaging and coherent when it comes to the story AND fused it with popular european folklore?

like you can't even say "oh they ripped everything off" because the game does manage to weave in new ideas and aspects even into ideas that *seem* recycled.

 

I was super impressed even with tiny ‘quality of life’ type details too, even the simple act of making your souls drop OUTSIDE a boss room when you die I thought was thoughtful because I’m dumb and often run into boss fights without checking how many I have beforehand lol

 

I haven't figured out what it is yet, but your souls do get less over time though until you pick them up.

I'm guessing it's just time lol

They came up with such fantastic new ideas that I hope From rips them off. I can’t state how much I love that game, they just nailed absolutely everything.

 

I'm not really into soulslikes or anything too difficult, but if I was somehow in the mood for one and it was on Gamepass or something I would totally check out Lies of P, and maybe even Elden Ring, something about them feels more appealing to me than the mainline Dark Souls games (and I actually have the first one, I've just never tried it). Bloodborne looks cool too but I don't think that was ever ported to pc?

2d metroidvanias that veer into soulslike territory (Blasphemous, which I've finished, and Moonscars, which I haven't) often have really cool art but the combat is just abysmal, I don't have the skill or the patience to git gud

 

Also Sony is working on a handheld right now which may or may not see the light of day and there will most certainly be some sort of Steam Deck successor eventually.

I was going to start Indiana jones but like literally seconds into the game it freezes and I have to force restart lmao nevermind I’ll just wait until ps5 it is.

I’ve done this three times too so yeah it’s weird.

 

I started today on the steam deck using Xbox game pass streaming or whatever. So far pretty cool I think. Very early on but I’m enjoying it
