I could see something similar to what happened with Tango Gameworks, with Krafton acquiring Tango for an undisclosed fee from Microsoft months after the studio was shut down.

Sony grab Monolith and do Condemned

 

TIL Monolith absorbed Surreal Software in 2010.....they were the studio behind the survival horror game The Suffering and it's sequel! Really fun PS2 games and now that I see Monolith took over this studio and then Monolith made the Condemned series IT ALL MAKES SENSE.
