LaD Gaiden is soooo much fun. Kiryu is the best.

 

I really need to finish IW, I started it again and I’m gonna do it, I swear

 

I can't wait to get started on that once I finish this.

 

You’ll love it, story isn’t as good as LAD admittedly but the rest of the game makes up for it, there’s just so much to do and it’s awesome.

 

Ah that good to know going in. I will admit though, story is just one piece of the franchise experience, so as long as it's got the majority of the franchise I'll have a blast. While I really enjoyed LaD for its ability to carve out a new fresh beginning, I definitely smiled the biggest when that tough as fuck boss fight happened and was super surprised to see them.

I'm so glad Majima got his own game. It's long overdue! He was my favorite part of 0 and inspire comedic relief.

 

AHHHHHHH the Judgement cameo in Gaiden!!

 

Grand Theft Hamlet is very cool and funny! Worth signing up for a free trial of Mubi to watch.

 

I paid for three months of MUBI for a $1 so I should check that out.

 

Did it so I could watch The Substance and goddamn, the selection is well worth the money.

 

I keep thinking of all the games I need to play after avowed (Pentiment! finish up deadfire, new Vegas, and outer worlds! pick up my second run of tyranny! rip through pillars again! icewind dale 2 because why not I’ve owned it for years!) but then I remember by the time I finish avowed it’ll be monster hunter wilds day (week, month, year)

 

This is what I’ve been playing for the last couple nights.

 

Avowed is cool. Def scratches the Skyrim itch while still feeling different

 

I'm in chapter 3 just grinding side missions for $$, I kinda don't want to beat it cuz I'm having fun playing as kiryu. I've really enjoyed seeing how this story has been running concurrent with LaD7 and seeing where the games ALMOST intersected.

 

Wrapped up Alan Wake II and both DLCs. The gameplay wasn't always for me, but the story was so extremely my shit and a fantastic evolution from the first two games. It's also just cool to see Remedy's expanded universe come together in so many ways. It has me super hyped for Control 2.

 

When I'm not playing LaD Gaiden I'm currently swapping between it and AW2. I just finished the Watery level...and having just finished Silent Hill 2R last week, I'm on a horror kick. Maybe it's because I am more familiar with SH2 so I knew what to expect going on, but AW2 I think if I had to choose between the two games I'd choose this. It's got more of an emphasis on legit puzzles which have at times downright stumped me. I'm very much looking forward to seeing it's ties to Control (I know the vague/general links, but I never played the actual DLC but did play the base games and then read synopsis of the DLC) and am super glad we have a Control sequel on the way.

 

I’m like 14 hours into DQ11, I actually want to play and finish a game this year lmao. Just got to the bit where I finally have a ship and can sail across the seas!

 

Monster Hunter reviews are great as expected

Started trying to do the Balatro jokerless challenge and it's so damn hard. My personal best so far is ante 5, I know how it needs to work but I get such bad luck at such bad moments

I don't like the artwork for Ares when you're talking to him
I do like the artwork for Selene when you're choosing a boon
The song you sing with Artemis in the crossroads is so pretty
The surface definitely seems more difficult, at this point I think it's by design rather than a balancing issue
I've only reached Typhon once. It's a nice big boss fight. If only Prometheus didn't kick my butt every time I got up there...
The final two animal familiars are so flipping cute, and also their effects are very useful
I’ve gotten used to the fact that there have been and will continue to be countless minor changes to boons/weapons/arcana/keepsakes and I should not to get too attached to anything. The one and only change I wish they'd revert is the keepsake from Artemis is still practically unusable

 

Monster Hunter Wilds seems to be quite a mess technically, with it dropping to 900p on performance mode on the ps5. Oof

 

Yeah well at least my ps5 won’t burst into flames like my pc likely will if avowed is anything to go by lol my machine is so beyond cooked

 

Very excited for Wilds!!! Looks like overall verdict is the usual reviews for MH games as far as difficulty. Base game is always a bit easy then the DLCs and add ons will kick your fucking ass. I love it that way.
