ssktjl spoilers kinda but you should already know how this plays out since it's in the damn title and i've used the acronym enough times that you should know what it stands for by now
bats death was kinda underwhelming, being one of Kevin Conroy's last roles and all. supes fight suuuuucked.
one more boss fight left. i never liked brainiac as a big bad, even in Injustice 2.
the story is exactly what you'd expect, which isn't necessarily a bad thing imo. bad guys doing good by killing the good guys who've gone bad, waller bossing you around and being morally gray to save the world. maybe people were hoping for another proper arkham game where you play as bats, and we got this silly thing instead. i'm into it, tho
i've only been playing as harls but i honestly really like the gameplay aspects. traversal is fun once you get the hang of it, flying around the map shooting aliens kinda feels like SRIV. the missions are a bit repetitive, but there's enough variety in the gear you get that it stays fresh. plus each character can reach level 20 in their own skill tree (with free respecs!), after which there's like a shared skill tree similar to bl2 badass rank which is pretty neat.
i think this and Gotham Knights are unfairly maligned just because they don't live up to the nostalgia and fondness people have for the Arkham games. they aren't bad.

Got some friends together for some Phasmophobia tonight and had very chaotic games, I love playing the game in general but it's always so much more fun with friends

 

They're absolutely doing this because of Apex and Fortnite

so yeah i beat the game. tribute to Kevin Conroy after the credits was nice
haven't tried any of the endgame content yet. don't really feel like playing as joker or mrs. freeze, let alone doing all the necessary steps to unlock them.
the plan for dlc is a pretty cool concept, killing twelve elseworld brainiacs. also kinda grindy, but that's just baked into the genre. i think i'm ready to move on to something else. this was fun tho

 

Nitpicks re: veilguard. Yeah once you get later into the story you see how all discussion prompts are basically the same and basically: good guy, good guy with an attitude, happy go lucky good guy. And the quotes don't align with the actual words 1:1 either.

The only other thing is I'm really not a fan of the CPU ally/battle system. I miss being able to switch between party members, allowing you to play various styles whenever you wanted. Here you're stuck with what we your rook is, I don't think there's a way to respect completely? And if so, still you're locked to just that. Plus the cool downs are wayyyyy too long to actually make ordering the CPU worthwhile.

Also Taash might be worse DA party member ever lol.

 

The lip sync in cut scenes is atrocious

I’ve noticed this as well. Hoping Mass Effect doesn’t make the same mistake. The choice is what makes those games so good
