Alright I’m getting into Live A Live, starting with the near future

 

It’s objectively not a great game but MWIII is giving me the craziest nostalgia I could almost cry. How has so much time passed lol

 

I need a way to just skip to the camp after the Valentine camp

I just beat what I assume is the first major boss in this story so I’m starting to get a feel for things and I really like it. The combat is great with its traditional turn based mixed with an ATB/movement system that makes things feel more action-y. The feel of the game has a ton of charm especially the music

 

is that the wrestling one or the mecha one?

 

yeah I've played through the whole franchise more or less over the past few months so Village is my last one before I'm done, might start it today

 

Wrestling I believe? There was a wrestling reference in the orphanage anyway there’s the gangs abducting kids and you have to activate the old man’s giant robot

 

Got going on remnant 2 and took down the first major boss quite easily, game is fun but it has the same horrible map as returnal but somehow worse lol I hate 3D monochromatic maps

 

I felt a disturbance in the force. (Someone said something vaguely critical about Returnal)

 

Started up the Guardians of the Galaxy game, pretty promising so far! I can see why folks were high on it

 

my brother gave me an Oculus 2 so i started the Half Life 2 vr mod. got dizzy at first but teleport helps. adding Alyx to my wishlist so I know when the price goes down. Same with Beat Saber

 

love RE Village already. going from Southern Gothic to just Gothic rules so hard

I could NOT get into Live A Live, I need to give it another try though with an open mind.

 

what kept you from liking it?

 

HL: Alyx works really well on the quest 2. There's a setting for sitting, and then you can set it to turn you around on a preset angle (I think I did 15 degrees with each click) and then you have the continuous and the teleport movement. I preferred continuous, and then the 'click' turn with the seated setting (press the joystick to crouch). I don't have a long enough cable, or really a room made for 'full' VR but I didn't really find sitting and playing any less immersive. I know you can sync the quest wirelessly, but that didn't work for me without an insane amount of lag. I have pretty good VR legs at this point, but I still always need a break about once an hour (I just get warm and queasy and need a breather).

My only other piece of advice about the game is that there are some pretty strong horror elements as the game goes on. Some really took some steel for me to get through but I'm a big horror wimp.

Beatsaber works really well standalone on the quest but I'd recommend starting with the early packs. Hard on the newer packs songs is crazy difficult compared to hard on the early songs. From the first couple of packs, I can do hard on most songs and can't do it on many in the latest pack. They introduced new mechanics that aren't used in the early packs.

I think its because I was always expecting it to be a classic SNES era JRPG, not the split up story type of game it really is.

 

It is a classic SNES era JRPG though. It's a remake, Jersey.
