Never heard of them, so I looked them up and apparently they co-developed SINoALICE?

I never played it, was it really terrible?

Yeah I played sino from day 1 to EoS. While it started out fine they eventually ended up shooting themselves in the foot. Horrible QoL, inconsistent or NON existent changes in following JP's schedule.....like JP was 4 years ahead of global so there should be a plan to follow that right? Nah, they'd pick and choose what they wanted to give global and the stuff they'd skip was ALWAYS QoL stuff. So inconsistent with everything. The monetization was absolutely dog shit. And in okay a ton of gacha so I already know how monetization works on a lot of games but pokelabo would power creep everything on an accelerated schedule. Then they had the genius idea of putting in a giant guild v guild tournament where JP would play global........and remember JP is 4 years ahead so although they tried to make both sides equal there's only so much you can do. Just horrible mismanagement all around. Another example, no events were truly equal. Like in JP there could be an event where a character was given away for free, or for an anniversary JP had gotten a certain amount of free pulls. Eventually when the event came around to global, either the amount of free stuff would be drastically reduced or even NOT GIVEN to us at all. That's if global even got the event in the first place, that happened too. It became a running joke that global was just helping find JP because for the amount of money global was at one time making, it was never reflected in game. Pokelabo obviously saw global as an afterthought.

This game could be different, due to no multiple clients like global and JP (that I've seen so far) but just due to their horrible mismanagement of sino that's enough to scare me off lol.

Recently watched some clips of Priconne events and stared at it like a dog in a pet store watching the humans leave, so I get this.

It's a shame that global clients are treated this way, but I think it really is an afterthought since I don't think people here in the States will whale the same way for this genre.

There are some gacha games that I'd love to check out, but I know that's just going to lead to heartbreak. It's one of the reasons I haven't gone back to Epic Seven or tried Genshin Impact, even though they seem relatively secure.

Yeah it's always sla question if "do I wanna get invested if it's gonna EOS soon" because there's so many games that only last a year or two. Bell there's a handful that didn't even last a year lol.

Almost every DBZ game seems to be safe, while a lot of anime based games shutter within a couple years it's like DBZ just by its name is enough to keep it alive. Epic 7 can be fun, I've dabbled every now and then but there's so little new story content to keep me engaged....I know every gacha basically boils down to farming/grinding but E7 takes Farming Simulator to the next level haha. But yeah like you said Hoyo games are always a sure bet, ever since Genshin became the megahit and they started printing money they seem to be reinvesting it back into the games to keep from getting stale. I'm also playing GBF and FGO and it's gonna be their 10 year anniversary coming up, that's something not a lot of games get at all.

Some recent games I have played:

Baldur's Gate 2: It is remarkable how much of a learning curve these older games had and how as a child I was much better at mastering them than I am as an adult approaching middle age. The story mode makes you invincible which lets you experience the story without endless grinding. I wouldn't have the patience to do it straight, with the way you have to manage your inventory and spells. For such an old game, it has a fun personality.

Dragon Age: Inquisition: The whiplash from the closed and half-finished Dragon Age 2 to the endlessly vast Dragon Age: Inquisition is really unprecedented. It feels like every creative decision was made as a response to negative feedback from the second game. It is like when Green Day was accused of not being punk enough on Dookie so they overcorrected on Insomniac by trying to sound hard. There is a hilarious choice between who will sacrifice themselves in the middle of the game and I would love to see the statistics because I can't imagine anyone making a different choice than the obvious one.

Hitman 2: The framing story is as stupid as Blood Money was but this one is so much more fun and creative. I am really bad at the game so no matter how much I tried to do disguises and set up the more outlandish deaths I was always inevitably caught and had to shoot my way out, but I can't wait to play 1 and 3, which I would have done in order if the naming convention of the series wasn't so awkward.

Halo 3: I never had an Xbox so I have been slowly going through the Master Chief Collection on Steam. So far it has been pretty iterative, but it has been really good since the beginning so there is not that much to change. The games do a really job of making you feel isolated by starting you as part of a larger unit or group but through challenges and further diving into the depths of the enemy you end up alone and facing greater and greater challenges. There is a part where you are trying to disable two giant spider robot enemies and the chaos as you drive around in the Humvee felt like a well-shot action scene in a movie. Everyone loves Keith David, but he does a yell here during combat that makes you laugh when maybe you shouldn't be.

    The first is optional however

It’s weird how they are selling those two and then advertising the design lab.
