Definitely gonna be moving from the demo of Octopath 2 to the full version today lol


Edit: and purchased. Gonna be in an old beach house by myself for a few hours tonight so I’ll mostly be playing dead by daylight and make things even scarier but I’m gonna try to at least play another hour of Octopath 2!

One question I have: is there a way to see an opponent’s HP? The combat has been surprisingly fun but idk how I feel about not knowing how much more damage I need to do, unless I’m just missing something. This is my first real JRPG lol

 

You can use the analyze skill to see enemy hp and weaknesses, otherwise I think the enemy name gets highlighted in yellow and red when they’re halfway and close to death(?), it’s been a minute since I played

 

Yep, what Chris said. When you get Osvald, use his Analyze skill and it shows HP and its weaknesses. The red and yellow names is an indicator too. You also unlock secondary jobs later and you can give his job to another character, so you can have two people with that skill if you want.

Octopath 2 is a fantastic first JRPG. Have you played any tactics RPGs? If not you should play triangle strategy next

Ha, I mean I’ve played a few hours of Persona 5, plus Pokémon Blue when I was like 10 and probably a couple hours of FF7 but other than those, yeah. I’ll try to post my thoughts throughout! The visuals are so gorgeous.
