Holy shit, Cat Quest 2 is wayyy better than Cat Quest 1.

 

I think there are a few of us who sub to the new GameInformer and after sitting with it for a little this is an absolute steal for $2 a magazine. there are some really great and in depth previews, reviews, and other articles that I’ve missed.

this is legitimately gonna be a make or break thing.

they’re gonna lose a lot of $$ putting it on game pass but it’s one of the only things they can try to grow game pass.

 

It feels like a really dumb idea, which makes it perfect for Microsoft.

 

It feels like a decision that may have high reward, but could just be losing overall with minimal growth and loss of money.

 

I don't actually understand how Game Pass could ever be lucrative in its current form, but then I guess I don't know how much the average gamer spends in a year.

Feels like it's more than the total cost of a Game Pass subscription for a year, though.

This is exactly the reason I’m still subbed to gamepass, even if I’m not necessarily playing anything on it at the moment. $120 a year is still less than the price of 2 new full-priced games, which I used to spend quite easily.

 

Like, it sounds like a fever dream of an idea. I get the concept, you hope the lower price of entry will allow more subscribers and then the recurring income will offer stability, but that only sounds like it works if your client base is the general population and not a fixed audience of nerds. Microsoft isn't Nintendo. They're not going to inadvertently tap into a soccer mom fanbase.

 

CANNOT wait!

 

If games come a subscription I am subbed to, it is a win for me. I don't get bogged down in all the economics of it.

 

Speaking of GamePass. Just started this game and it's actually quite enjoyable. More of a narrative driven walking sim but the art style is great. Very Wallace and Gromit.
