I just completed Frog Detective. It was not really my cup of tea but it was enjoyable for the most part plus it was a quick completion at roughly 6 hours. Recommended if you are into puzzle solving and a lot of dialogue. The humor was very odd and almost uncomfortable at times.

Diablo worked great for me using the Battle.net launcher, so I'd assume it's even better running natively on Steam

 

no. Needs constant relaunching as it can’t connect to the servers if you lock the steam deck. Among other things.

also it’s an awful game.

 

So late to the game on this one, but hotline miami is so fucking infuriating and awesome. Im on lvl 10 but ive died like a 1000 times. I realized i had controller drift going on which i mostly fixed, so i got better once that issue was solved, but damn... still punishing (at least compared to what i normally play).

Love the style though, and waiting to see the payoff on the weird 'story'.

Besides the sequel, what else is this style? Havent dipped into anything casual like this before (a fun fast paced shorter indie).

those games are nothing like hotline but are fucking awesome in their own right. Especially Hades of course.

 

decided to jump back into Elden Ring to see if i could beat the last two bosses i was missing

once again, my friends..... suffering

 

and to be clear, i'm talking about Malenia and Radagon/Elden Beast

Malenia, i got her halfway down her health bar on her second phase w/ help from a summoned player before getting caught in a Waterfowl Dance

and Elden Beast i actually got like down to maybe 20% health, i was so close

 

Sarah and I are playing A Way Out. It’s fun but it’s a lot of me telling her what she needs to do lol.

Hades isn't super casual, but I highly recommend it. Ape Out is great. It's similar in some ways. Ruiner and Katana Zero.

 

Not yet. She likes all the true crime shit lol so I figured she’d enjoy this one more and I was able to get it for $5. We’ll probably do that one next though.

 

My Friend Pedro would be a good get. Laika is more of a metroidvania, but the gunplay/combat is kinda similar and you die in one shot so there are sections you have to retry a lot to get right

edit: also I didn’t really like, but The Hong Kong Massacre is just like hotline miami and often on sale for less than $5 so maybe worth taking a flyer on

Probably anything in the twin-stick shooter genre.

 

Otxo would probably be right up your alley. It has the same twitchy gameplay, but more emphasis on gunplay. Not a lot of story in it, but a lot of weird is packed into it.
