It’s honestly really easy to pick up and play

 

Most new user friendly souls experience imo

 

I remember I cheesed it when that one build was stupid op but I should really try it again without the int bleed build

 

I understand and that’s why I bought it, but literally just said I tried and didn’t get into it, thanks!

 

I've been playing the demo for a couple of weeks and sat down and played it basically all day today, game slams so hard, would be an easy GOTY if not for Rebirth

Huge chance I buy the collectors edition with the DLC for ps5 even tho I have it on pc already. def want it physical and on my home console.

 

Completed the first chapter of Yakuza 0. I longed for a modern-ish game like this for so long. As a kid, I religiously replayed Beatdown: Fists of Vengeance. My parents found it in a bargain bin, but I played the hell out of it.

The story of Kiryu and his expulsion from the Dojima family is interesting. The mystery behind of setup should take me far early on in the game. I’m sure starting in the next chapters I’ll be introduced to other styles of gameplay.

Yakuza 0 is such a good fucking game. Having only played that and 1 and 2 so far it's easily my favorite. It's super interesting in the fact that even though it's a prequel it came out super late in the franchise....I think after 5? Majima is THE fuckin dude. Fav character by FAR.

 

Yeah Majima is a GOAT character from any game series

 

For the past year, this has happened to me when playing Trackmania. I load it up, decide to play for maybe an hour and end up playing for 5 hours.

 

I honestly had no idea it was a prequel! After buying the bundle on Steam, I looked up a play through order and I’ll stick with that.

I also bought Cassette Beasts earlier. When I had gamepass last month, I put in so much time and made it at least 50% of the game. Bummed I’ll be losing my team, but happy to do it all over again! It’s going to be my “cozy” game to play when I relax at night.

 

Balatro fucks so hard

 

Managed to get 2 wins today in Balatro out of 20 or so runs. I’m already addicted.

 

It might just be post work/dinner brain but this seems more involved than most other roguelikes I've played, pretty immediately. It's cool but I'm doing a lot of mathing already lol

 

Player's Log time.

Since last time:

Bowser's Fury was beaten and then 100%ed. Phenomenal game.

Skyrim: Back into this for real. Cleaned up most of the Winterhold quests, cleared out a couple caves, and got back into the Dragonborn storyline.

Bloodstained: About 30% of the way through the map and having a blast. Played a lot the last couple weeks. Currently at the Bridge of Evil. Got lucky fighting Valac, the Twin Dragon—I fell through the tower ramp and was able to cheese him from below for a good 60% of his HP before he noticed and came down haha.

Returnal: My PS+ Premium subscription is ending in a couple days so I'm pausing this for a while. But I really love the game and I'll for sure pick it up again when it makes sense to do so. Never even made it out of Biome 1, but fought Phrike a few times and got consistently better. Amazing game, thanks again to all who recommended it.

Valkyrie Elysium continues to be great. Finished Chapter 3 and spent some time on subquests.

Started Skyward Sword because it was a Christmas gift. Motion controls are wonky with the Joy-Cons, but otherwise I love the story and world so far. Having a fun time with it.

Started playing the Titanfall 2 campaign because I never did when it was released and I have a lot of love for that game. Holds up really well. I'm predictably terrible playing online but I'm having a blast. This scratches the Halo 3 itch more than Destiny 2 ever has, so while I do enjoy Destiny a lot, Titanfall is taking precedence in the genre.

Finally, I played some Foamstars tonight. It's weird, but also fun. I'd play more.

 

Got to Ante level 4 off a pretty good build, this is one of the few roguelikes good enough that I don't actually want to look up what other people are doing, the joy of discovery is already incredibly satisfying
