Hell of a video. I've wondered for a few years where all the Emil hate came from. The fact that it came from a public presentation on writing years ago that was then proceeded to be deliberately picked apart and misinterpreted is depressing but also unsurprising. The internet will do internet things but the fact that it has gone this far is a shame.

 

What games has Capcom done that with? I’m genuinely not aware they’ve done that.

Either way, I don’t see how that makes it less shitty for another publisher to start doing it.

 

My issue with Emil is his writing is shallow, uninteresting, and cliche. Story has been a weak aspect of BGS for a while.

Can't comment on everyone else's opinion of him since I ignore reddit completely and youtube largely.

 

Wild that the game that will not be named is the first to beat COD in sales in 15 years. And lol Mario Kart 8 still in the top-20 9 years later. Whenever 9 drops for the Switch successor, that thing is probably going to demolish sales records.

Story has always been a weak aspect of BGS. There was never really point where it wasn't, even before Emil became lead writer.

 

I mean, it’s pretty clear when he took over as lead writer it got worse.

They put the real ending of Asura’s Wrath behind a pay wall and they also did it with Desd Rising 4. Basically, Capcom loves to make basic stuff be DLC.

I finally got around to playing the Fate/Samurai Remnant demo and hell yeah this is my shit. Looked up some more info, ~50 hours for first playthrough and hype reviews for the story?

Oh, also: got to chapter 8 of XBC2 and at 87 hours. Whewwww and this game is hitting ALL THE MARKS.

My fav servant is Jeanne Alter and her being in this and having such a demanding presence in the demo blew my socks off. The saberface was cool too lol. But yeah it's a chonky game it seems as far as story goes. Plus multiple endings. Demo felt super smooth in battle, and the fact you'll be able to not only play as the main master but multiple servants TOO? Say no more.


I suffer thru the gacha cuz the story is just *chefs kiss*.
