I’ll keep my opinions on CO’s parry design to myself but otherwise incredible game

if you actually go back to Eternal (not sure if you have) The Dark Ages looks a little better and the assets are a lot more detailed. Sadly, the resolution has been severely dialed down to free up performance for the forced raytracing, which is a bit of a bummer, but it also looks really good in this game, so it's hard to argue.

So If you don't consider raytracing a generational leap, I get what you're saying, but technically it's far more impressive.

 

This is what helped me most later in the game, also relying on dodging until you’re comfortable enough landing a perfect dodge to switch over parries

Okay i just ripped through like 10 more chapters of The Dark Ages and this is my fav FPS game of all time holy fuck.

 

The second stage in the paintress boss fight made me turn it off for the night last night. I’ll try again today, but you really can’t miss the dodges…

I think time will be extremely kind to Doom TDA. Also probably the most accessibility options I’ve ever seen in a game.

also +1 to it being the best campaign ever.

 

It’s cool they added a story again. I wasn’t super invested in it but it was pretty good!

 

I started Death Stranding for my new without-wife game. It’s my first Kojima game. Summer Break is soon, so I’ll have time to finish it before 2 comes out if I end up liking it. The visuals are super good and the credits say there are CHVRCHES songs…? Fascinating so far.

 

I played some Sifu last night, it's a game i've always wanted to git gud at but never have. I've played a little in the past but not much. I watched a couple youtube guides then hit the training area and feel like I really got some understanding of what the game demands. Got through the first level relatively unscathed, I know i'm about to get rekt but it's nice to feel like I have some control over the fights.

Last time I played I just remember trying to parry everything because I want everything to be Sekiro and I was getting fuckin destroyed

 

In terms of games that make you feel cool, Sifu is the only one that I have played that rivals Sekiro.

 

Doing a perfect dodge against the tanks, at least in the tutorial, is really fucking annoying

Sifu was so great. Also enjoyed the secret level short

 

Picked Sifu back up after beating Sekiro thinking I might be better at it but no lol

 

hate to be a party pooper, but regarding SIFU...

Yakuza Pirates: finally got to Honolulu and it's the same EXACT map as IW?! Holy shit that game was huge as is so take that and include the sea parts?? Good for I thought IW was a huge game, I didn't even know we'd be revisiting IW locales, j thought this was strictly see and random islands. Good job RGG studios, you've done it again.

Okay i played 1 round of Nightreign last night , and I was pretty quickly able to figure out what the fuck was going on, and it was pretty god damn fun. Thumbs up from me for a first impression. Had a guy drop out right away then me and a rando made it to the end of Night 2 and then got spanked. I was very much just trying to comprehend what the game was asking me to do though for most of the time and not like progressing like I should.

 

The selling point for me was I saw at least 5 steam reviews call the game RoR2 + Soulsborne lol. That did it.

 

Yeah the RoR comparison is apt as you can’t dawdle at all.

 

Only thing I really wanted was a timer for when the circle shrinks and bless reddit. Someone made a timer you can use on a second screen or on mobile
