TARGET HAS BATTLEFIELD V FOR $29.99 UNTIL THURSDAY. PS4 TOO

 

I'm tired today and the blame falls on Monster Hunter World, I'm hooked.

 

I have tried multiple times to get into it but it doesn’t stick.

 

I need to get back into MHW, I think I got stuck on a hunt and just never went back because another game came out.

 

would also like to get back into MHW a little. i think i left off on early HR stuff. if y'all are on ps4 and wanna squad up lmk

 

Yeah I need to get back into MHW too lol

 

Might finally get MHW it sounded fun but I had no time to delegate in the past

 

That having to watch cutscene bs for coop turned me off hard.

 

the first couple of hours I was like "oh no, what have I done". but I think after playing until 2am last night and some light reading on the commute to work this morning I've started to get a grasp on the mechanics/crafting.

I probably picked a weapon that's not great for beginners but the insect glaive is what I'm using. wanted something totally different.

 

MHW burnout for me was just a general burnout after playing the living hell out of 4U and Gen. also it sucked not having it handheld because grinding those gear sets out while half paying attention to something on TV was the best. makes me want to pick up Gen Ultimate but i really don't want to go back to the old lack of QoL features either.

 

yeahhhh as soon as I started I thought this would be incredible on Switch

 

Glad you said this, cause I almost bought it on BF but was apprehensive and went with other choices.

 

Also, the battle system in AC: Odyssey is the best yet. Built off the Origins system but quite a bit more fluid and dynamic. AI Mercenaries hunting you all have different gear and fight tactics. I don't know that I love the landscape as much as Origins, but it's another solid entry.

 

I’ll definitely pick up Odyssey at some point. Just too many other games I’m playing right now

 

MHW is great, it's just not very accessible to newcomers

 

On the other side of that, it's the first Monster Hunter I've played and I was able to figure it out over time. It helps to have friends who know what they are doing though

 

i agree but none of them have every been particularly accessible. figuring out MH3U should've earned me college credits.

 

i will say that MH has an awesome community of enthusiastic, helpful people. i'd use reddit and discord to ask questions and party up for the 3DS titles and never had one negative experience. never needed those for World though because so many friends finally got into it.

 

Oh yeah I agree none of them are, this one has just reached a way bigger audience than the others by being on PS4/Xbox/PC so it's the first entry for a lot of people

 

Yeah, they definitely don’t hold your hand and a big reason for it not really holding my attention.

 

I'd compare it to Dark Souls in a lot of ways so it's definitely not for everyone lol

 

Okay yeah I'ma get MHW

After playing Eve I'm ready for the learning curve

 

I much prefer Dark Souls to MH.

 

huge learning curve with MHW but so much fun and grindy if you're into that sort of thing. the hunting horn is hilarious to team up with. you're fighting some monster and you hear toot n honks in the background

i main the gunblade and i learned just one major combo and use that on all monsters. i change it up if i need to cancel or need to just do DoTs

 

Nothing tops Xenoblade Chronicles 2 in terms of a learning curve for me. I'm near the end and still am not sure what I am doing in battle most of the time lol
