I said I liked it and that I think it looks more fun than witchers imo, but its not actually technically good

On easy mode W3 is really just a fun hack and slash lol

 

I've been playing through the witcher 3 for the first time and it doesn't really feel dated at all. Sometimes the combat and horse mechanics have been a little wonky but that's okay because the rest of the game is worth it.

 

i'm also easy to please with games so idk

 

my favorite is watching people fighting next to a cliff on Witcher, your character lunges alot lol

 

Numerical scores are an outdated method of critical discourse and that’s the *real* problem here. People take 10/10 to mean “flawless thing that scored perfectly on a rubric” but there’s rarely an actual rubric, so the whole thing is holistic. My least favorite thing in the world of critical discourse is nitpicking over scores that ultimately come down to Bad / Okay / Good / Excellent.

 

I’ve always considered a 10/10 to be “as close to perfect as possible”, not actually perfect in and of itself because nothing is or can be.*

*Except Tetris, of course

yeah and the highest a roguelike could ever score is maybe a 6 or 7

 

Idk I think a method that includes 100 different possibilities to score a game is a pretty nuanced way to communicate quality
