I appreciate ps4 exclusives

 

Witcher 3 is also 4 and a half years old now and came out pretty early this gen. It was very impressive at the time and still a really enjoyable game

 

It was very impressive visually/technically. Otherwise I don't see what was so impressive (or groundbreaking) about it. It didn't do anything others haven't done. Maybe storytelling, but that's very subjective.

 

Wait are we not supposed to take everything seriously in here?

What other RPG with a similar setting are better? I think that has a lot to do with it

I mean, a lot would say all major Elder Scrolls games are. Again, that's very subjective.

In Witcher 3 or what? Sure. It's not the first well written game though, not even remotely. Also there are probably people that think the writing is corny because it's full of fantasy nonsense.

 

Some people will die on the ES hill purely because it has character creation. It's definitely subjective to some extent.

 

I really think the "problem" is just that that most 10/10 games are actually like 8-8.5/10 games and that 7/10 is underused

 

Because a lot of people think 7/10 is bad for some reason

For me the big thing that is more appealing about ES than a game like W3 is the way the AI characters work in ES (and Fallout) games. To put it very simply: the Witcher 3 is (mostly) just a puppet show that starts dancing for you whenever you enter a particular location, whereas Skyrim is more of a simulation in which characters go about their day while you walk around in it. I prefer the latter. Overall however I still do not really know if I like ES or Witcher more.

Yes. They're wrong. Really, most games that actually do something that positively surprises me these days are games I'd give a 7 overall.

 

I prefer almost everything about Witcher with the differences between them I get why people might prefer ES

I really hate character creation and usually just go with a default. Idk why you want to spend hours making a character look like your ugly self when you could be actually playing the game instead
